The Omega Group has the expertise and equipment to handle a wide range of drilling projects, including cutting through the toughest reinforced concrete and rebar with precision. We use diamond-tipped core drill bits paired with state-of-the-art rotary drilling technology. Our team can create accurate holes in various diameters and depths using high-quality diamond-tipped core barrels, ensuring a clean void without cracks or jagged edges.

A building may be undergoing repurposing, or a newly installed concrete slab may have failed after 28 days. In such scenarios, it is not uncommon for a mezzanine floor, heavy factory machinery, or racking systems to be scheduled for installation. Once the strength is known, a structural engineer assesses whether the concrete is suitable.
Cost-effective when compared to other forms of site investigation.
Create clean and accurate holes thanks to sharp diamond drill bits
Minimal dust and heat output due to water cooling the core bit.
Cut through the strongest reinforced concrete and materials.
As part of our diamond-drilling and coring service, we provide complimentary Schmidt rebound testing before drilling. The Schmidt rebound hammer is a non-destructive testing method that allows quick, easy assessment of concrete surface strength. By using this tool, we can provide an immediate estimate of concrete compressive strength, supporting quality assurance and informed decision-making on site.
Important: Schmidt rebound hammer testing offers a quick, non-destructive estimate of concrete strength. While convenient and non-destructive, it does NOT replace the accuracy and reliability of compressive testing performed on concrete core samples, which remains the universally accepted industry standard for determining concrete strength.

We can cut down and into depths to suit you, utilising extension rods to enable deeper penetration and cutting of sub-layers and beyond, dependent on slab depth.
Important: For compressive strength testing, the core sample must have a minimum length of 100 millimetres or 1:1 ratiio to ensure accurate results.

Yes, you will. All concrete core samples are promptly sent to our partner laboratory for comprehensive compressive strength testing.
The time required depends on several factors, including the concrete's age, the mix design (such as cement content), and whether fibres or rebar were incorporated when the floor or slab was constructed. While there are many variables, we typically drill and extract a core sample within 20 to 45 minutes—sometimes even faster.
Yes, we offer this service. After completing the diamond drilling, and before we leave the site, we can fill any holes or voids with fresh concrete. This approach is recommended for safety reasons. We can provide a specific concrete mix, such as C32/40, to ensure your project and application requirements are met. Alternatively, we can provide a standard concrete mix. All concrete used to reinstate will be hand mixed on-site.
Absolutely. Our experienced team utilises advanced drilling equipment to cut core samples at virtually any angle—on floors, walls, or ceilings.
No. We use state-of-the-art equipment featuring a dust suppression system that continuously carefully delivers clean cool water into the diamond-tipped core barrel during cutting.
Yes, our diamond drilling equipment is designed to be easily positioned in very small or confined spaces, allowing us to start work quickly, safely and efficiently.
We use advanced vacuum pumps to securely anchor the drill and frame to any surface—whether floor, wall, or ceiling. This eliminates the need to bolt the machinery to the surface, which is common practice with other companies and often causes unnecessary damage.
